Pedestrian Counters

Pyro sensor tubes are easily hidden in fences, walls, posts and trees. The cable leads to a data logger which is usually buried a few meters away. The standard pyro sensor range is 1-1.5 metres which suits narrow paths. The long range pyro sensor has a range of 2-3 metres which suits the wider paths. The logger is in a locked metal box out of sight from public access which contains the pyro tube and the logger.

Pyro 3

Pyro - Body Heat

Body Heat Sensors detect a body of heat passing in front of them up to a distance of approximately 6 metres. Used mainly for counting pedestrians but will also detect a person on a bicycle.

Pressure Switch

Pressure Switch

A pressure switch is used on a wooden stile. A strong steel mesh is fixed to one of the steps on the stile and triggers a small switch. This is a very accurate method of counting pedestrians.

Slab 3

Slab

A pressure slab buried under a path will detect people when they thread on it. Two slabs can be installed together to count people walking side by side. A narrow slab can be used to count bicycles on mountain bike trails.
