Smart Posts
The smart post is designed and manufactured specifically for sensorss and related information.

There are three types of post
-
There are three sizes of door opening.
The large post with the small door is for a Pyro (Body heat) which will count people walking or cycling. The large post with the large door will hold two types of sensor. A pyro and a magnetometer which will count the cyclists. Allowing cyclists and walkers to be counted separately.
The small post with the medium door, will hold any type of sensor. Eg, Pressure Slab, Magnetomoeter or inductive Loop in road for counting cars or bikes. it will also suit the Pyro if the sensor is hidden within a stone wall or other feature at the site.
An important feature is the reinforced plastic ducting which protects the cable under the ground. This protects the cable directly from the sensor in the ground, through a Gland in the post which is watertight, and right up to the logger and amp within the post.
One of the photos shows a horizontal line and hatched lines indivating the ground level and the concrete which seals the gland and makes the post very secure. The advantage of this is that a sensor (even in the ground) can be moved by disconnecting the cable at the logger in the post and pulling the cable through. This can be reversed for reinstalling.
